Ruth E Lyne Registered Member MBACP (Accred)

I trained at Warwick University, starting my counselling training by doing an Open Studies Certificate in Person-Centred (Rogerian) Counselling in 2004/05. At the same time I undertook a Certificate in Substance Misuse Management with the University of Kent. I then went on to do a two-year diploma in Person-Centred (Rogerian) Counselling and Psychotherapy at Warwick from 2005 to 2007. I have an interest in working with Addictions and Substance Misuse and worked with an Alcohol and Drug Service for 18 months in 2005/06. I have worked for some time as a volunteer counsellor with MIND working with a variety of issues, including mental health problems, depression, anxiety and stress. I currently have a small private practice and see clients in Stratford and Kenilworth. I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, gaining accredited status with them in 2010 and I am bound by their code of ethics.

Since qualifying, I have undertaken a range of CPD workshops and seminars and returned to Warwick University in 2008 to complete an advanced diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Practice for Person-Centred Therapists. In 2010 I completed a Supervision Course at Warwick University and after gaining the relevant number of hours to qualify, received my Advanced Certificate in Supervision in June 2012. In October 2011 I completed an Advanced Post Diploma Certificate for Person Centred Couples Training.

I am married, with two grown-up children, one grown-up step-daughter and five grand-children.
