Ruth E Lyne Registered Member MBACP (Accred)
I trained at Warwick University, starting my counselling training by doing an Open Studies Certificate in Person-Centred (Rogerian) Counselling in 2004/05. At the same time I undertook a Certificate in Substance Misuse Management with the University of Kent, which was awarded with Merit in 2006. I then went on to do a two-year diploma in Person-Centred (Rogerian) Counselling and Psychotherapy at Warwick from 2005 to 2007. I have worked for some time as a volunteer counsellor with MIND working with a variety of issues, including mental health problems, depression, anxiety and stress. In 2009 I returned to Warwick University where I completed an Advanced Diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Practice for Person-Centred Therapists. It was at this time that I met Steph and we joined forces to create Therapy Challenges. In 2012 I completed an Advanced Diploma in Supervision of Person-Centred Counsellors and Psychotherapists awarded by Warwick University. I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists, gaining accredited status with them in 2010 and I am bound by their code of ethics. I am registered with the Professional Standards Authority and my certificate number is 023628. I currently have a small private practice and see clients and supervisees in Stratford.
I have undertaken a range of CPD workshops and seminars, some through the CPD days offered by Therapy Challenges and have worked closely with two other supervisors to deliver several supervision courses which were award the National Counselling Society’s A+ Advanced Specialist Course. It is with sadness that we are no longer able to offer the CPD or the Supervision courses.
I am married, with two grown-up children, one grown-up step-daughter and six grand-children.
I can be contacted by email at ruth@therapychallenges.com or by ‘phone on 07766 480283. I am happy to have an initial assessment meeting at a reduced cost to cover the room hire, and will discuss your needs, fees and whether we believe we are able to work together.
